Job summary

Dollar Tree is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, customer service, and team development in Valparaiso, Indiana. You will assist with openings/closings, merchandise organization, and adherence to store directives while promoting a positive customer experience.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, store management exposure in retail, and the ability to lift up to 55 lbs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; able to read/interpret directives.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment preferred.
• Must lift up to 55 lbs and perform physical tasks.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions.
• Organize and transfer merchandise from delivery to stockroom to sales floor.
• Perform opening and closing procedures.
• Process corporate directives and store communications.
• Maintain promotional fixtures and displays.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged goods, payroll, scheduling, and cash handling.
• Maintain store areas to company standards; secure assets.
• Adhere to policies, safety guidelines, and store procedures.
• Help Store Manager supervise and develop Store Associates.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and presentable store environment.
• Other duties as assigned.
