Job summary

The Salvation Army Wahiawa Thrift Store is seeking an enthusiastic Assistant Store Manager to partner with the Store Manager in day-to-day operations and to lead store staff. You will coach employees, ensure excellent customer and donor relations, and manage smooth daily operations including BRP and cash handling.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years retail management/supervisory experience.
• Able to handle POS/cash register operations.
• Must hold a valid driver’s license and provide proof of insurance.
• Must pass background check.
• Effective communication with management, staff, customers, and donors.

Responsibilities

• Taking an active role and partnering with the Store Manager in the day-to-day operation of the store.
• All day-to-day store operations in the absence of the Store Manager.
• Providing coaching, training, and development to the Store Employees.
• Ensuring Customer/Donor needs are met by maintaining good Customer/Donor/Community relations; complaints are resolved; and service is quick and efficient.
• Communicating any personnel issues with Management, in absence of Store Manager.
• Ensuring store is maintained at ARC Merchandising Standards, adequate inventory levels on hand.
• BRP – In absence of Store Manager, ensure that the Material Handlers are working effectively and efficiently to meet daily processing goals.
• Adequate amount of change at the beginning of each day, safeguarding cash and banking of cash receipts as per ARCC policy.
• Assisting the Store Manager on ensuring safety measures are established and maintained per ARC policy and government regulations.
• Implementing appropriate loss prevention measures.
