Job summary

The Salvation Army Honolulu Main Thrift Store in Honolulu seeks a Store Assistant Manager to join the team full-time on-site. You will work with the Store Manager to oversee daily operations, supervise staff, and ensure strong donor and customer relations while supporting the ARC program.

The role requires a High School Diploma, 2+ years of retail management experience, and a valid driver’s license. You will handle scheduling, POS duties, safety compliance, and leadership development.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 2 years of Retail Management/Supervisory experience.
• Ability to operate POS/Cash Register and schedule/supervise store employees.
• Must hold a valid Driver’s license and provide proof of insurance.
• Must pass background check including Criminal History and Sex Offender Registry.
• Ability to communicate effectively with management, staff, customers, and donors.

Responsibilities

• Takes an active role with the Store Manager in day-to-day operations.
• Assumes responsibility in absence of Store Manager.
• Coaches and develops Store Employees.
• Maintains strong Customer/Donor relations and resolves issues promptly.
• Coordinates daily meetings during Store Manager absences.
• Ensures compliance with directives and guidelines.
