Family Dollar in Sioux Falls, SD is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support daily store operations, deliver strong customer service, and develop the team. The role includes merchandising, opening/closing, payroll and scheduling, and training Store Associates.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred; ability to read, interpret, and explain operational directives is required.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment is preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs. and perform physical tasks including walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, bending, and climbing.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills are required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment is required.
• Exceptional customer service, organizational, and communication skills are required.
• Strong problem solving and decision-making skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Organize and transfer merchandise from delivery to stockroom to sales floor and maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives and communications related to store activities.
• Maintain promotional fixtures and displays for effectiveness.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, payroll/scheduling, cash deposits, and loss prevention.
• Maintain clean, well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom to company standards.
• Protect store assets, including cash, and follow safety policies and procedures.
• Help the Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
• Ensure a positive, safe environment with professional interactions with customers, associates, and leaders.
