Job summary

The Assistant Manager is responsible for assisting and consulting the Store Manager in overall operations and administrative duties, including determining the methods and approaches necessary to accomplish the store's goals. Qualifications

• Experience working in a retail environment, preferably in footwear and athletic apparel.
• 1-3 years of customer service experience.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to assist in managing a team and keep up with overall goals and profits.
• Self-starter with initiative to take on important tasks.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Store Manager in controlling store assets and operations.
• Consult with Store Manager to set action plans for selling, restocking, merchandising, ordering, and scheduling.
• Enterim position in Store Manager’s absence and assume supervisory duties.
• Assist in recruiting, training, and evaluating store personnel.
• Provide guidance to employees and customers in all departments as needed.
• Monitor inventory, sales stats, and expenses to ensure profitability across departments.
• Direct staff to meet department responsibilities and standards.
• Keep Store Manager informed about inventory movement and customer trends.
• Deliver extraordinary customer service consistent with the customer service manual.
