Job summary

The Assistant Manager is responsible for assisting and consulting the Store Manager and regarding overall operations and administrative duties, including determining the methods and approaches necessary to accomplish the store's goals. The Assistant Manager is knowledgeable in each product area or department in our store.

Qualifications

• Experience in retail environment, footwear/athletic apparel preferred.
• 1-3 years of customer service experience.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to manage a team and keep up with goals.
• Self-starter with initiative and responsibility.
• Strong attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Store Manager in controlling the assets of Hibbett I City Gear.
• Consult with Store Manager to establish action plans for selling, restocking, merchandising, ordering, and scheduling.
• Assumes responsibility of the entire store in the absence of the Store Manager.
• Consult with Store Manager to establish action plans for departmental and overall store responsibilities.
• Assist in staff recruiting, training, and evaluation.
• Provide knowledge and guidance to employees and customers in all departments.
• Monitor inventory, sales statistics, and expenses to ensure profitability.
• Direct staff to ensure department responsibilities and standards are met.
• Maintain quality customer service as outlined in manuals.
• Promote and sell services and merchandise; uphold policies and standards.
• Protect assets and financial information; inform management of fraud risk.
