Job summary

Hibbett I City Gear in Smyrna, TN seeks an Assistant Manager to support the Store Manager in daily operations and administration. You will be knowledgeable across departments and uphold all policies while promoting merchandise and delivering outstanding customer service.

The role covers supervision in the Store Manager’s absence, staffing, training, and driving store performance through inventory, sales, and customer engagement.

Qualifications

• Experience in retail, preferably footwear/apparel.
• 1-3 years of customer service experience.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to assist in managing a team and meet goals.
• Self-starter with initiative and task ownership.
• Strong attention to detail and multi-tasking ability.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Store Manager in controlling the assets of Hibbett I City Gear.
• Consult with Store Manager to establish action plans for selling, restocking, merchandising, ordering, and scheduling.
• Assume responsibility of the entire store in the Store Manager's absence.
• Assist in personnel recruiting, training, and evaluation.
• Provide knowledge and guidance to employees and customers in all departments.
• Monitor inventory, sales statistics, and expenses to ensure profitability.
• Direct staff to ensure department responsibilities and standards are met.
• Ensure extraordinary customer service and promote merchandise.
