Job summary

Hibbett I City Gear is seeking an Assistant Manager in Shelbyville to support store operations and customer service excellence. You will work closely with the Store Manager on selling, restocking, merchandising and scheduling while ensuring policy compliance.

You will supervise staff in the manager's absence, train team members, and help maintain profitability through awareness of inventory and sales trends. A strong service mindset is essential for peak periods.

Qualifications

• Experience in retail, preferably footwear/apparel.
• 1-3 years of customer service experience.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience supervising a team is a plus.
• Detail-oriented with ability to manage multiple tasks.

Responsibilities

• Assist Store Manager in controlling assets and daily operations.
• Collaborate with Store Manager to plan selling, restocking, merchandising, ordering and scheduling.
• Step in for Store Manager in their absence and maintain store standards.
• Assist in personnel recruiting, training and evaluation of staff.
• Provide guidance to employees and customers across departments as needed.
• Maintain awareness of inventory, sales statistics and expenses to support profitability.
