Job summary

Hibbett I City Gear in Nashville is seeking an Assistant Manager to support the Store Manager in daily operations and administration. You will be knowledgeable in departments, uphold policies, and deliver outstanding customer service while promoting merchandise.

You will assume store duties in the Store Manager's absence, assist in recruiting, training, and evaluating staff, and monitor inventory and sales trends to maintain profitability.

Qualifications

• Experience in a retail environment, preferably footwear and athletic apparel.
• 1–3 years of customer service experience.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to assist in managing a team and keep up with overall goals and profits.
• Self-starter with initiative to take on important tasks without prompting.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to handle multiple tasks.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Store Manager in controlling assets and operating plans.
• Establish action plans for selling, restocking, merchandising, ordering and scheduling.
• Take responsibility for the store in the Store Manager's absence.
• Supervise personnel recruiting, training, and evaluation.
• Provide knowledge and guidance to employees and customers in all departments.
• Monitor inventory, sales statistics, and expenses to ensure profitability.
• Direct staff to ensure department responsibilities and standards are met.
• Keep management informed about inventory movement and customer trends.
• Ensure outstanding customer service and promote services and merchandise.
• Perform general administrative duties and learn Store Manager responsibilities.
