Job summary

E&H Ace Hardware in Ohio is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support daily store operations in a family‑owned, locally operated environment. You will coach staff, drive sales, and ensure a well‑organized sales floor while delivering exceptional customer service.

The role requires leadership, flexibility to work evenings and weekends, and a hands-on approach to merchandising, inventory, and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1+ years of retail leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
• Strong communication, organizational, and multitasking skills.
• Proficiency with basic computer applications (Microsoft Office, Teams).
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Coach and train team members and lead by example in customer service.
• Lead store operations including opening, closing, and manager-on-duty shifts.
• Assist with merchandising and ensure signage and displays are accurate.
• Help customers with purchases, returns, and online orders.
• Manage inventory with cycle counts and stock-level monitoring.
• Maintain a clean, organized store, stock room, and outdoor areas.
• Support store resets and safety/compliance practices.
• Address customer or employee concerns promptly and professionally.
