Job summary

Dollar Tree in Morristown, TN is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support daily store operations, enhance customer service, and develop the store team. You will assist with merchandising, staffing, opening/closing, loss prevention, and enforcing policies while ensuring a clean, welcoming shopping environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; ability to read and interpret directives.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs. and handle frequent walking, standing, stooping, and climbing.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Organize and transfer merchandise from delivery to stockroom and sales floor; maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives and store communications related to activities.
• Maintain promotional fixtures and displays for effectiveness.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, and record-keeping (payroll, scheduling, cash deposits).
• Maintain clean, stocked sales floor and organized stockroom to company standards.
• Protect and secure all company assets, including cash.
• Ensure compliance with policies, procedures, and safety guidelines.
• Help Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
• Foster a positive, safe, and respectful environment with customers and coworkers.
• Maintain cleanliness of the store, bathrooms, floors, and waste removal.
