Job summary

Dollar Tree is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, customer service, and team development. You will assist with daily activities, help customers, organize merchandise, and ensure proper execution of policies and procedures.

The role requires strong communication and organizational skills, the ability to lift up to 55 lbs, and experience in retail management. You will help supervise and train store associates while maintaining a safe and friendly environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma preferred; ability to read, interpret, and explain directives is required
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment is preferred
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs. from floor to above shoulder height and perform frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, and lifting
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills are required
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment is required
• Exceptional customer service, organizational, and communication skills are required
• Strong problem solving and decision-making skills are required

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns
• Help organize and transfer merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor and maintain seasonal areas
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed
• Process corporate directives and communications related to store activities
• Maintain promotional effectiveness of store-front fixtures and displays
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, record keeping including payroll, scheduling, and cash deposits/receipts, and loss prevention
• Maintain clean, well-stocked store areas and secure store assets including cash
• Adhere to policies and safety guidelines and ensure staff follow procedures
• Help Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates
• Maintain a positive, safe, respectful environment with customers and staff
• Ensure cleanliness throughout the store including bathrooms, floors, and waste disposal
• Other duties as assigned
