Job summary

Family Dollar is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, customer service, and team development at our McDonough, GA location. You will help with daily store activities, merchandise flow from truck to floor, and maintaining clean, organized spaces.

You will assist in payroll, scheduling, and cash handling while upholding safety policies and providing excellent customer service. This role emphasizes leadership and teamwork in a fast-paced retail environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; ability to read and explain operational directives.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store is preferred.
• Able to lift up to 55 lbs and perform physical tasks such as walking, standing, kneeling, and climbing.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills are required.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, team environment and handle multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Organize merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor and maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process directives and communications related to store activities; maintain displays and fixtures.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, payroll, scheduling, cash handling, and loss prevention.
• Maintain a well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom to company standards.
• Protect and secure all company assets, including store cash.
• Adhere to safety policies and ensure associates follow procedures.
• Help Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
