Job summary

Dollar Tree Stores INC in Baltimore is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, customer service, and team development.

You will assist with day-to-day functions, train associates, supervise opening/closing, manage merchandise flow, and ensure safety and standards are met. This role emphasizes strong communication, upbeat service, and teamwork in a fast-paced retail environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Ability to read, interpret, and explain operational directives.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs. and perform physical tasks including walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment.
• Excellent customer service, organizational, and communication skills.
• Strong problem solving and decision-making skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Organize and transfer merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor; maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives and communications related to store activities.
• Maintain promotional fixtures and displays.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, record keeping (payroll, scheduling, cash deposits) and loss prevention.
• Maintain clean, well-stocked store and organized stockroom to company standards.
• Protect and secure all company assets, including store cash.
• Adhere to safety policies and ensure associates follow procedures.
• Help Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
• Maintain a positive, safe, respectful environment with customers and colleagues.
