Job summary

Dollar Tree Stores in Royal Oak, MI is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support daily store operations, customer service, and team development. You will assist with merchandise flow, opening/closing duties, and adherence to company policies while leading store associates to deliver a positive shopping experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; ability to read, interpret, and explain operational directives is required
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment is preferred
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs and perform frequent walking, standing, and bending

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day activities
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns
• Help organize and transfer merchandise from delivery to stockroom to sales floor
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed
• Process corporate directives and store communications
• Maintain promotional fixtures and displays
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, and cash handling
• Maintain a well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom
• Protect and secure all company assets including cash
• Ensure compliance with policies and safety guidelines
• Support Store Manager in supervising and developing Store Associates
• Maintain a positive, safe, and respectful environment for customers and staff
• Maintain store cleanliness including bathrooms and floors
• Perform other duties as assigned
