Job summary

Family Dollar in Upper Darby, PA is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, customer service, and team development. You will assist with daily store functions, organize merchandise, and ensure clean, organized spaces.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred and required to read and interpret directives.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment is preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 55 lbs and perform physical tasks including standing, walking, bending, and repetitive motions.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills are required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment.
• Exceptional customer service, organizational, and communication skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Help organize and transfer merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor and maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process directives and communications related to store activities.
• Maintain promotional displays and store fixtures.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, record keeping, and loss prevention.
• Maintain clean, well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom.
• Protect and secure all store assets, including cash.
• Adhere to policies and safety guidelines and ensure staff follows them.
• Help Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
• Maintain a positive, safe, respectful environment with customers and staff.
• Ensure store cleanliness, including bathrooms, floors, and waste disposal.
• Other duties as assigned.
