Job summary

Family Dollar Stores Of Ohio LLC in Euclid, OH is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, customer service, and team development. You will assist with daily tasks, help customers, and help organize merchandise between delivery, stockroom and sales floor, while maintaining seasonal setups.

The role requires reading and applying operational directives, some store-management experience, and the ability to lift up to 55 lbs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Ability to read, interpret, and explain operational directives (e.g., merchandise schematics).
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs. and perform physical duties.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment.
• Exceptional customer service, organizational and communication skills.
• Strong problem solving and decision-making skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Help organize and transfer merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor and maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives and communications related to store activities.
• Maintain promotional fixtures and displays for storefronts.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, record keeping (payroll, scheduling, cash deposits), and loss prevention.
• Maintain store areas to company standards (sales floor and stockroom).
• Protect and secure all company assets, including store cash.
• Adhere to policies and safety guidelines; ensure associates follow procedures.
• Support Store Manager in supervising, training, and developing store associates.
• Ensure a positive, safe environment with professional and friendly interactions.
• Maintain store cleanliness including bathrooms, floors, trash, and neat presentation.
• Other duties as assigned.
