Job summary

Dollar Tree Stores INC is seeking a Store Associate to support daily store operations in Winchester, VA. You will assist with customer service, merchandise handling, and maintain clean, organized areas across sales floor and stockroom.

Responsibilities include opening/closing tasks, following corporate directives, ensuring safety, and aiding the Store Manager in training associates. A team-oriented, customer-focused approach is essential for success.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store preferred.
• Must lift up to 55 lbs and perform physical tasks.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment.
• Exceptional customer service, organizational, and problem-solving skills required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Organize and transfer merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor; maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives and store communications.
• Maintain promotional fixtures and displays.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, and record-keeping (payroll, scheduling, cash deposits).
• Maintain a clean, well-stocked sales floor and stockroom to company standards.
• Protect company assets, including store cash.
• Adhere to safety guidelines and company policies; ensure staff compliance.
• Support Store Manager in training and development of Store Associates.
• Maintain positive, safe, and respectful environment with customers and staff.
• Keep bathrooms clean and restocked; sweep and mop floors; take out trash.
