Job summary

Five Below is seeking a Loss Prevention Associate to help protect assets and maintain a safe, welcoming store environment. You will work with the General Manager, monitor entry points, and perform routine security checks while engaging customers professionally.

The role requires the ability to stand for long periods, lift up to 20 lbs, and work nights/weekends to support peak retail periods. Previous LP/retail exposure is a plus.

Qualifications

• Good communication skills for all levels of staff and management.
• Customer service experience in a retail environment is preferred.
• Ability to work nights and weekends to meet store needs.
• Must stand/walk the sales floor for 8 hours.
• Able to lift and carry up to 20 lbs.
• Reliable time and attendance is essential.
• Ability to work independently and follow policy.
• Basic understanding of retail or security principles.
• General product knowledge in key departments.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to shortage reduction and investigations.
• Work closely with the General Manager to ensure policy compliance.
• Maintain employee entrance area where applicable.
• Track packages delivered through the employee entrance, excluding regular shipments.
• Conduct store security checks and recommend loss prevention measures.
• Perform in-store figure 8s and stay active in store operations/safety.
• Provide a visible, courteous presence at entrances/exits.
• Conduct safety inspections and communicate hazards to management.
• Greet customers as a Five Below associate.
