J.Jill is seeking a Sales Audit & Sales Tax Associate to support the retail accounting and tax function. You will perform reconciliations, research discrepancies, and prepare tax filings while collaborating with stores and cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree preferred in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 1-3 years of accounting or related experience.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
• Strong analytical, organizational and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently while contributing within a team.

Responsibilities

• Reconcile retail store bank accounts and investigate reconciling items.
• Research and resolve daily cash over/short discrepancies.
• Process corporate checks and related transactions.
• Prepare and record journal entries to correct transactional issues.
• Reconcile credit card receivables and research payment discrepancies.
• Respond to inquiries from store personnel and provide accounting support.
• Prepare and file monthly sales and use tax returns.
• Coordinate the setup of merchant IDs, bank accounts, and other financial requirements for new store openings.
• Build and maintain effective working relationships with stores and internal business partners.
• Handle confidential and sensitive financial information with discretion.
