Job summary

Ocean State Job Lot is looking for a detail-oriented Junior Accountant to support the financial operations of their multilocation liquor store business in New Jersey. The role offers hands-on experience in retail accounting, focusing on daily bookkeeping and inventory accounting.

Candidates should have an Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance, strong communication skills, and be adept at problem-solving. The position also offers competitive pay and a supportive team environment.

Qualifications

• Strong computer skills including Microsoft Excel and Word.
• Ability to meet deadlines with a high level of attention to detail and accuracy.
• Experience in retail, grocery, or liquor/beverage industry is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

• Daily bookkeeping — reconcile POS reports, and record weekly sales to the General Ledger system.
• Support Month End Close by preparing reconciliations and schedules.
• Participate in Process Improvements to help streamline workflows.
