Job description

After years building the best POS platform for restaurateurs, Toast is expanding its offerings into other food and beverage concepts such as convenience stores, grocery stores, and bottle shops. This role will require a founder’s mindset as we grow Toast’s presence in this new vertical with a new offering: the Toast Retail platform.

As a Territory Account Executive, you will be part of a founding team that is transforming the way convenience stores, grocery stores, and bottle shops operate. Using a consultative approach, you will prospect, build relationships, and sign up new accounts. By understanding their unique needs, you will develop a customized solution that helps their business thrive. We need your passion, sales expertise, and entrepreneurial spirit to help us build the Toast brand in an assigned geographic territory.

Responsibilities
  1. Use a consultative approach to prospect, build relationships, and sign up new convenience stores, grocery stores, and bottle shops.
  2. Generate lists of prospective stores and manage the entire sales cycle from initial contact to closing.
  3. Conduct demos and develop solutions tailored to prospect needs.
  4. Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure expectations set during sales are met in delivery.
  5. Leverage Salesforce CRM to manage all sales activities.
  6. Understand the competitive landscape and position Toast effectively in the market.
Requirements
  1. Entrepreneurial and feedback-driven mindset.
  2. Strong communication, organizational, and presentation skills, with the ability to sell and negotiate at all decision levels.
  3. Proven success in meeting and exceeding sales goals.
  4. Ability to work in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial, and team environment.
  5. Self-motivated, creative, flexible, and able to navigate ambiguity.
  6. Reside in or near the target market.
  7. Willing to travel 25% or more.
Nice to Haves
  • Retail operations experience.
  • Fluency in Spanish.

The estimated Total Targeted Cash compensation range is $129,000—$206,000 USD, including base salary, commission, benefits, and equity (if eligible). This role qualifies for uncapped commissions. The starting salary will depend on skills, experience, and location.
