Job summary

Accounting Search in New York, NY, is seeking an Associate Attorney to join its Restructuring & Special Situations Finance Practice Group. This role offers exposure to complex domestic and cross-border restructurings, distressed financings, and special situations transactions in a sophisticated, fast-paced environment.

The ideal candidate has a JD from a top-tier law school, active bar admission in the applicable jurisdiction, and 3–7 years of substantive experience in restructuring, bankruptcy,

Qualifications

• JD from a top-tier law school with an excellent academic record.
• Active Bar Admission in applicable jurisdiction, in good standing.
• 3–7 years of substantive experience in restructuring, bankruptcy, and/or special situations finance transactions.
• Familiarity with Chapter 11 proceedings, out-of-court restructurings, and liability management transactions.
• Experience representing creditors, debtors, sponsors, or financial institutions in distressed scenarios.
• Strong drafting, analytical, and negotiation skills.
• Large law firm experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Represent clients in complex restructuring and insolvency matters, both in-court and out-of-court.
• Advise creditors, debtors, and investors in distressed and special situations financings.
• Draft and negotiate credit agreements, restructuring support agreements, and related transaction documents.
• Support liability management transactions, recapitalizations, and distressed M&A opportunities.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including finance, corporate, and litigation attorneys.
