Job summary

Restructuring & Special Situations Finance Practice Group at an AmLaw firm in New York seeks an Associate Attorney to handle complex domestic and cross-border matters, including distressed financings and high-stakes restructurings, within a fast-paced environment.

Candidates will have 3–7 years of relevant experience, top-tier law school credentials, and strong drafting and negotiation skills; large firm background preferred, with hybrid work options across multiple offices.

Qualifications

• JD from a top-tier law school with excellent academic record.
• Active Bar Admission in applicable jurisdiction, in good standing.
• 3–7 years of experience in restructuring, bankruptcy, or special situations finance.
• Familiarity with Chapter 11 proceedings and liability management transactions.
• Experience representing creditors, debtors, sponsors, or financial institutions.
• Strong drafting, analytical, and negotiation skills.
• Large law firm experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Represent clients in complex restructuring and insolvency matters, in-court and out-of-court.
• Advise creditors, debtors, and investors in distressed and special situations financings.
• Draft and negotiate credit agreements, restructuring support agreements, and related transaction documents.
• Support liability management transactions, recapitalizations, and distressed M&A opportunities.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including finance, corporate, and litigation attorneys.

Skills
