Job summary

Our client, a leading AmLaw firm in New York, seeks an Associate Attorney to join its Restructuring & Special Situations Finance Practice Group. This role offers a chance to work on complex domestic and cross-border restructuring matters, distressed financings, and special situations transactions.

Ideal candidates hold a JD from a top-tier law school with an excellent academic record, active Bar admission, and 3–7 years in restructuring/bankruptcy. Large-firm experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• JD from a top-tier law school with an excellent academic record.
• Active Bar Admission in applicable jurisdiction, in good standing.
• 3–7 years of substantive restructuring, bankruptcy, and/or special situations finance experience.
• Familiarity with Chapter 11 proceedings and liability management transactions.
• Experience representing creditors, debtors, sponsors, or financial institutions in distressed scenarios.
• Large law firm experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Represent clients in complex restructuring and insolvency matters, in court and out of court.
• Advise creditors, debtors, and investors in distressed and special situations financings.
• Draft and negotiate credit agreements and restructuring-related documents.
• Support liability management transactions and distressed M&A opportunities.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including finance, corporate, and litigation attorneys.
