Job summary

ALTEN Technology USA is seeking an experienced Automotive Safety/Restraints Engineer to lead the design, development, validation, and production launch of critical safety systems in our vehicles. You will oversee CAD design, DFMEA, validation, and regulatory compliance while collaborating with suppliers and cross-functional teams across the vehicle lifecycle.

The role requires 10 years in automotive safety, CATIA V6 proficiency, and strong knowledge of FMVSS/ECE and NCAP/IIHS protocols.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in engineering and 10+ years in automotive safety.
Proficient in CATIA V6 CAD modeling.
Strong knowledge of FMVSS, ECE regulations, and consumer rating protocols (NCAP/IIHS).
Willingness to travel to supplier HQ and manufacturing locations.

Responsibilities

Lead design and development of safety hardware (seatbelts, airbags, steering wheels, sensors) from concept to production.
Track development performance, timing, and targets.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align on vehicle goals.
Lead CAD design in CATIA V6 and generative shape design.
Lead DFMEA development and risk mitigation across teams.
Develop product validation plans and sign off results.
Coordinate with Supplier HQ and manufacturing during validation reviews.
