Wake County Public School System is seeking an Alternative Learning Center Teacher to design and deliver targeted social-emotional learning and academic intervention for students facing behavioral challenges.

The role focuses on reducing suspensions and disruptions by implementing evidence-based strategies and maintaining core instruction during interventions. Strong collaboration with families, teachers, and staff is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited college or university.
• Master’s degree preferred for advanced roles.

Responsibilities

• Implements curriculum aligned with the NC Standard Course of Study for individual students.
• Implements evidence-based Restorative Practices and SEL interventions to support student success.
• Maintains a suitable learning environment, including planning and organization of the classroom, and provides classroom management.
• Communicates regularly with students, parents, teachers, and administration.
• Maintains accurate class records, including daily attendance.
• Attends school-based and central services meetings which may involve hours outside the instructional day.
• Acts as a liaison between the base school and Alternative Learning Programs to support transitions as needed.
