Job summary

Poplar Bluff School District is seeking a Restorative Support Instructor (Classified) to support positive behavioral change using restorative practices across campus. This role collaborates with teachers, counselors, and staff to ensure access to instruction while addressing student behavior and equity.

Preferred: a 4-year degree; minimum: 60 college credits and substitute teacher certification; duties include supervising students, documenting observations, supporting trauma-informed practices,

Qualifications

• Must exhibit excellent communication skills with students, parents, staff, and the community.
• Experience applying restorative practices and trauma-informed approaches in a school setting.
• Ability to collaborate with teachers, counselors and administrators to support equitable student achievement.

Responsibilities

• Provides student supervision for those with disruptive behaviors in the classroom.
• Maintains confidentiality of information gained through the position.
• Works with teachers for student success and supports behavioral interventions.
• Maintains discipline and order within assigned duties.
• Confers with parents on student progress as directed by supervisor.
• Utilizes data to determine need-based decisions.
• Conducts and documents student observations.
• Supports development of safety and support plans.
• Participates in district and school teams and committees as needed.
• Keeps current on restorative practices in schools.
