Qualifications

• Must have strong communication skills with students, parents, staff and community.
• Must demonstrate initiative and leadership in school settings.
• Must be punctual and reliable in all activities and responsibilities.
• Must be able to follow district directives and policies.

Responsibilities

• Provides teacher support by supervising students with disruptive behavior to minimize impact on learning.
• Maintains confidentiality of information gained through position.
• Works closely with teachers for student success.
• Maintains discipline and order in the classroom environment.
• Confers with parents on student progress as directed by supervisor.
• Uses data to inform need-based decisions.
• Conducts and documents student observations.
• Contributes to support/safety plans.
• Supports school-based and district collaborative teams.
• Keeps current on trauma-informed and restorative practices in schools.
• Helps de-escalate student behaviors and return to daily schedule.
• Assists students who need one-on-one help with assignments, projects, and tests.
