Job summary

New Haven Public Schools is seeking a Restorative Practices Teacher Leader to build district capacity in restorative approaches. The role focuses on coaching, supporting, and ensuring accountability to reduce student disengagement and to implement a continuum of restorative practices with data-driven oversight.

The position reports to the Supervisor of Youth Engagement and collaborates with school leadership, staff, families, and community partners to strengthen school culture and address

Qualifications

  • Formal training in Restorative Practices and experience facilitating restorative practices and social-emotional learning for school stakeholders
  • Experience building positive school culture and implementing tiered supports for student success
  • Strong facilitation and active listening skills
  • Knowledge of regulations regarding suspensions and expulsions

Responsibilities

  • Prioritize Relationships, Collaboration and Communication
  • Coordinate professional development and training for school staff on restorative practices
  • Coach groups and individuals to implement restorative practices continuum
  • Develop strategies for universal and targeted supports and monitor outcomes
