Job summary

Diversicare of Oak Ridge is seeking a dedicated Nursing Assistant to support restorative programs and help improve residents’ quality of life.

You will implement ROM and strengthening exercises, assist with ADLs and ambulation, document progress daily, and collaborate with the nursing team to advocate for residents’ needs.

Certification as a Nursing Assistant is required; compassionate, patient-centered care is valued in our team-oriented setting.

Qualifications

• Nursing Assistant Certification from the state, where required.
• Good communication skills with the ability to read and write the English language.
• Ability to document appropriately and perform technical procedures.
• Genuine caring for and interest in resident.
• A strong belief in the Restorative Nursing Philosophy.

Responsibilities

• Performs restorative nursing programs on identified residents, including range of motion (passive/active), general strengthening exercises, ambulation and transfer training, ADLs, nursing whirlpools, placement of restorative devices and equipment, positioning, and restorative feeding program.
• Documents daily on treatment grid and weekly on progress notes.
• Notifies restorative nurse coordinator or appropriate therapy department of problems, referrals or reassessments needed.
• Reports to the Director of Nursing and charts significant changes in resident’s condition or motivational level.
• Reinforces team management of B/B program and collaborates with nurse aides on B/B procedures.
• Attends meetings and in-services as required.
• Serves as a resident advocate at all times.
