Job summary

Diversicare is seeking a Nursing Assistant to support restorative nursing programs for residents in a post-acute care setting. The role emphasizes documentation, patient advocacy, and collaboration with nurses and therapists to promote functional recovery.

The position requires a Nursing Assistant Certification where required, strong communication, and a compassionate patient-centered approach. Comprehensive benefits and opportunities for professional development are provided.

Qualifications

• Good communication skills with the ability to read and write English.
• Able to document appropriately and perform technical procedures.
• Genuine caring for and interest in residents.
• Restorative Nursing Philosophy is valued.

Responsibilities

• Perform programs on all identified residents, including ROM, strengthening, ambulation and transfer training, ADLs, whirlpools, restorative devices placement, positioning, and restorative feeding.
• Document daily on treatment grid and weekly on progress notes.
• Notify restorative nurse coordinator or appropriate therapy department of problems or referrals.
• Report to the Director of Nursing and chart significant changes in residents' condition or motivation.
• Reinforce team management of B/B program and work with nurse aides on B/B procedures.
• Attend meetings and in-services as required.
• Serve as a resident advocate and motivate others.

  • Positioning

• 2. Document daily on treatment grid and weekly on progress notes.
• 3.Notifies restorative nurse coordinator or appropriate therapy departmentof problems, referrals or reassessments needed.
• 4. Reports to the Director of Nursing and charts significant change in resident’s condition or motivational level.
• 5. Reinforces team management of B/B program and works with nurse aides on B/B procedures.
• 6. Attends meetings and in-services as required.
• 7. Serves as a resident advocate at all times. Motivates others.

Qualifications

• Nursing Assistant Certification from the state, where required.
• Good communication skills with the ability to read and write the English language.
• Ability to document appropriately and perform technical procedures.
• Genuine caring for and interest in resident.
• A strong belief in the Restorative Nursing Philosophy.
