Job summary

Douglas County Health Center in Omaha, NE seeks a Restorative Nursing Assistant to support residents in attaining greater independence. You will assist with ADLs, monitor progress, and document care using EHRs, while maintaining infection control practices and collaborating with the care team.

Requirements include a CNA certificate, high school diploma, and BLS/CPR within six months. Prior restorative aide experience and pre-employment checks are preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Completion of an accredited Certified Nursing Assistant course required.
• One year as a nursing assistant in a healthcare setting required.
• BLS/CPR certification required within six months of hire.
• Experience as a restorative aide and EHR experience preferred.
• Pre-employment criminal record check, drug screen, physical, and health review required.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients/residents with activities of daily living (ADLs) and personal hygiene.
• Establish and maintain effective work relationships with clients, staff, and the public.
• Comply with Civil Service Rules, county policies, and laws to ensure a safe environment.
• Monitor resident response to restorative nursing and inform nurse of changes.
• Ensure accurate documentation of vital signs, ADLs, diet, and care.
• Encourage participation in restorative programs and educate on assistive devices.
• Maintain sanitary, safe environment and report equipment issues.
• Infection control protocols; use gloves and proper PPE as needed.
• Document and report patient concerns to supervisor; report neglect/abuse as required.
• Participate in QAPI activities and maintain confidentiality of information.
• Attend shifts regularly and perform other duties as directed.
