Job summary

Gig Harbor Health & Rehabilitation is seeking a compassionate Restorative Aide with a current CNA license to join our dedicated team in providing quality, patient-centered restorative care to residents.

You will implement individualized care plans, assist with mobility and exercises, monitor progress, and collaborate with therapists and nursing staff to promote independence while documenting care activities and ensuring safety.

Qualifications

• Current CNA license in good standing.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience in long-term care, rehabilitation, or healthcare settings preferred.
• Experience with restorative or rehabilitative therapy is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Restorative Care Implementation: implement and monitor individualized restorative plans to improve mobility and function.
• Assist with prescribed restorative exercises and activities; monitor progress.
• Resident Monitoring: assess abilities and report changes to the nursing team.
• Collaboration with Team: work with physical/occupational therapists and nursing staff for coordinated care.
• Documentation: record activities and changes per facility policies.
• Patient Education: educate residents and families on rehab goals and exercises.
• Encourage Independence: promote ADLs as independently as possible, ensuring safety.
• Assist with Transfers: support safe transfers and mobility tasks.
• Safety and Compliance: maintain safe environment and report safety concerns.

Rate: $23.15 to $25.89 (based on experience)

Job Summary:

Gig Harbor Health & Rehabilitation is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Restorative Aide to join our team. The Restorative Aide will play a vital role in providing quality, patient-centered care that promotes the well-being, independence, and overall health of our residents. This position requires a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license and will involve working closely with a multidisciplinary team to implement and maintain restorative care plans that promote mobility, strength, and functionality for our patients.

Key Responsibilities:

• Restorative Care Implementation: Assist in implementing and monitoring individualized restorative care plans for residents to help improve or maintain their mobility, strength, and overall physical function. Work with residents to promote independence in daily living activities.

• Assist with Exercises: Provide assistance to residents with prescribed restorative exercises and activities. Encourage participation and monitor progress.

• Resident Monitoring: Regularly assess residents' physical abilities and limitations. Document and report any changes to the nursing team to ensure the care plan is adjusted as necessary.

• Collaboration with Team: Work closely with physical therapists, occupational therapists, nursing staff, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated, high-quality care for residents.

• Documentation: Accurately document restorative care activities, resident progress, and any significant changes in residents' conditions. Ensure proper record-keeping in accordance with facility policies.

• Patient Education: Educate residents and their families on restorative care goals, techniques, and exercises to foster a positive approach to rehabilitation.

• Encourage Independence: Support and motivate residents to perform activities of daily living (ADLs) as independently as possible, while ensuring safety and comfort.

• Assist with Transfers: Provide assistance with safe transfers, ambulation, and other mobility-related tasks to help residents regain or maintain mobility.

• Safety and Compliance: Ensure a safe environment by adhering to safety protocols, infection control standards, and regulatory requirements. Report any concerns regarding patient safety or wellbeing.

Qualifications:

• Education & License:

  • Current CNA (Certified Nursing Assistant) license in good standing.

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

• Experience:

  • Previous experience in a long-term care, rehabilitation, or healthcare setting is preferred.

  • Experience with restorative or rehabilitative therapy is a plus.

• Skills & Abilities:

  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with a diverse team.

  • Compassionate and patient-focused attitude.

  • Ability to assist with mobility, transfers, and exercise routines.

  • Basic knowledge of restorative care principles and the needs of elderly or rehabilitation patients.
