Job summary

SERVPRO of Paramus is actively seeking team players to join our emergency restoration crew. You will respond to water and fire incidents, perform cleanup, and help restore properties to pre-loss condition with a focus on safety and efficiency.

Ideal candidates have handyman or construction experience, enjoy working in teams, and are motivated to learn. You should be willing to work outdoors and accept on-call shifts including evenings and weekends.

Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license required.
• Willingness to work on-call shifts, including evenings, weekends and holidays.
• Previous experience in restoration, construction, or a related field preferred.
• IICRC certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Respond promptly to emergency situations including water and fire damage.
• Evaluate and perform restoration activities including water extraction, fire damage cleanup, equipment setup, and demolition.
• Load, inventory, and maintain vehicles with tools and supplies for each project.
• Communicate safety hazards and job site findings clearly to supervisors.

Key Responsibilities

• Respond promptly to emergency situations, including water damage, fire damage.
• Evaluate and perform restoration activities including but not limited to, water extraction, fire damages, set-up of specialty equipment, and demolition.
• Load, inventory, and maintain work vehicles with tools, equipment, and all necessary supplies for each project.
• Effectively communicate safety hazards, job site findings, equipment, and tool requirements for the worksite with supervisors.
• Maintain open and clear communication with clients, addressing their concerns and explaining the restoration process.
• Perform restoration and cleanup tasks, including water extraction, drying and site clean-up

Position Requirements

• Valid driver’s license
• Willingness to work occasional on-call shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Previous experience in restoration, construction, or a related field is preferred.
• IICRC certification is a plus.

Skills/Physical Demands/Competencies

• Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds regularly, occasionally up to 100 pounds with assistance.
• Ability to climb ladders, work at ceiling heights, work in tight spaces (e.g., crawl spaces, attics)
• Ability to repetitively push/pull/lift/carry objects.
• Ability to work with/around cleaning agents.
