Job summary

Aerotek in Madison, WI is seeking a versatile finish carpenter and interior painter for commercial projects within roughly 30 miles of Dane County. You will perform finish carpentry, drywall tasks, and painting, and may lead a small crew of up to 13 field employees, delivering safe, high-quality work on tenant turnovers and new builds.

This permanent onsite role offers steady hours, potential to grow into restoration work, and on-call rotations after hire.

Qualifications

• Proven finish carpentry experience on commercial projects.
• Experience with interior painting on commercial projects and tenant turnovers.
• Hands-on drywall installation, taping, sanding and finishing.
• General labor on commercial sites, able to lift 50 lbs repeatedly.
• Ability to assist in framing and basic construction tasks in commercial environments.
• Willingness to lead or assist a small versatile field-labor team.

Responsibilities

• Perform high-quality finish carpentry and interior painting on commercial projects and tenant turnovers.
• Complete drywall-related tasks including hanging sheetrock, taping, sanding, and drywall finishing as needed.
• Handle general labor duties on commercial job sites, including cleanup, material handling, and light framing support.
• Work independently or oversee a small crew of 13 field employees to ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to quality standards.
• Follow detailed instructions, project plans, and safety rules, and communicate progress and issues clearly to supervisors.
• Support other departments and job duties as needed, contributing to a versatile do it all field labor team.
• Maintain productivity during 4050 hour workweeks and be willing to work 10-hour shifts when required.
• Adapt to flexible end times during the week and be available for occasional Saturday morning work when needed.
• Participate in commercial and disaster restoration work, ranging from basic cleanups to larger cleanups in various building types.

Job Type & Location

This is a Permanent position based out of Madison, WI.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $32.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
