Job summary

ServiceMaster Restore® in Cedar Falls, IA seeks a restoration technician to complete water and fire restoration and cleaning tasks. You will prepare notes, photos, and documents to support insurance reimbursement and explain next steps to customers on-site.

Pay is based on experience and your role supports advancement opportunities. The position requires a high school diploma, valid driver's license, and good communication and customer service skills.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Experience in cleaning/restoration is preferred but not required.
  • Valid Driver's License and clean driving record required.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills; customer service orientation.

Responsibilities

  • Load and transport required equipment and supplies to job site.
  • Complete assigned restoration and cleaning tasks per procedures while maintaining quality control.
  • Perform damage repair tasks including pack-out of contents and deodorizing surfaces.
  • Clean detailed areas such as trim, baseboards, and light fixtures on post-construction sites.
  • Report equipment issues to supervisor and communicate with customers and staff.
  • Document job activities and capture photos for insurance documentation.

Position Overview

Job Responsibilities
  • Ensure appropriate equipment and supplies are loaded on truck needed for job, arrives to work site
  • Complete assigned jobs according to company processes while maintaining quality control on each job
  • Perform damage repair to include pack-out of contents, removing/disposing of non-salvageable materials, deodorizing and treatment of surfaces
  • Complete detailed cleaning of trim, ledges, baseboards, light fixtures, and more on post construction cleans
  • Ensure equipment, supplies, vehicles, and products are properly handled. Report any equipment malfunction and or damage to supervisor
  • Communicate customer issues, and daily job activities with supervisor and key company staff
  • Prepare documentation and pictures according to company policies and procedures to ensure reimbursement from insurance companies
Job Requirements
  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • Experience in the cleaning or restoration industry not required but preferred
  • Valid Drivers’ License and satisfactory driving record
  • Good verbal and written and communication skills
  • Good customer service skills
  • Experience with using mobile software to enter data
  • Can read and follow product label usage instructions
  • Reports to work on time in a clean, complete uniform
  • Must be able to prioritize activities and meet deadlines
