ServiceMaster Restore in Birmingham, AL is hiring a skilled Restoration Technician to perform mitigation and restoration for residential and commercial properties. The role suits hands-on professionals who work well under pressure, value craftsmanship, and prioritize customer care during loss events.

You will engage in water extraction, drying, fire and smoke mitigation, equipment setup and monitoring, and safe debris removal, while documenting progress and maintaining professional job sites

Qualifications

• Experience in restoration, mitigation, construction, general labor, or skilled trades.
• Knowledge of water damage restoration, mold remediation, or fire damage cleanup.
• IICRC certifications (WRT, ASD, FSRT) preferred or willingness to obtain.
• Able to lift 50+ lbs and perform physical labor.
• Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.
• Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and emergency calls.

Responsibilities

• Perform water extraction, structural drying, and smoke mitigation.
• Set up, monitor, and remove restoration equipment (air movers, dehumidifiers, air scrubbers).
• Demolish and remove damaged materials as needed.
• Clean, sanitize, and restore structural materials and contents.
• Take moisture readings with meters and thermal imaging tools.
• Document job progress with photos and mobile software.
• Maintain safe, organized, professional job sites.
• Communicate clearly with customers, adjusters, and team members.
• Follow OSHA safety standards, PPE, and company procedures.
• Participate in on-call rotation for emergency response services.
