Job summary

BMS CAT in New Jersey is seeking a hands-on Water Mitigation Technician to support residential disaster recovery operations. You will perform high-quality water mitigation, water extraction, and cleanup, while setting up drying equipment and containment at each site.

The role requires physical stamina and a valid driver’s license, with on-call rotation involved. Experience in water mitigation is preferred; IICRC certification is a plus but not mandatory.

Qualifications

• IICRC certification preferred, but not required.
• Experience in water mitigation.
• Lift a minimum of 50 pounds regularly, up to 100 pounds with assistance.
• Ability to climb ladders and work in tight spaces.

Responsibilities

• Perform high quality water mitigation services
• Water extraction
• Perform demolition tasks
• Clean up and debris removal of drywall, cabinetry, and flooring that may be damaged
• Place and monitor drying equipment
• Follow company guidelines for proper drying techniques
• Set up the van at the job site using the proper set-up procedures
• Setting up containment, decontaminating, setting up/monitoring remediation equipment
• Perform job cleanup and breakdown
• Effectively lead a work crew

Requirements

• IICRC certification preferred, but not required
• Experience in water mitigation
• Lift a minimum of 50 pounds regularly, occasionally up to 100 pounds with assistance
• Ability to climb ladders, work at ceiling heights, work in tight spaces (e.g., crawl spaces, attics)
• Participate in our on-call rotation work schedule
• Must have a valid driver’s license and good driving history
