Job summary

BadgerLand Foundation seeks a Land Stewardship and Restoration Ecologist to plan and implement ecological restoration and ongoing stewardship on around 500 acres of diverse conservation land. The role combines hands-on field work (75%) with planning, research, and documentation (25%).

The position requires independent assessment, action planning, and carrying projects from planning through implementation while coordinating contractors, interns, and volunteers in a dynamic outdoor setting.

Qualifications

• Experience in ecological restoration and land stewardship.
• Ability to plan and implement restoration projects from start to finish.
• Strong coordination with contractors, interns, and volunteers.

Responsibilities

• Plan and implement ecological restoration and stewardship on ~500 acres.
• Execute hands-on field work: prescribed fire, invasive species control, vegetation management, mowing, native seed collection and establishment, ecological monitoring.
• Coordinate contractors, seasonal staff, interns, and volunteers; collaborate with partners.
