Job summary

Baxter & Woodman Inc. is seeking a Restoration Ecologist - Stewardship Crew I to join our Naperville, Marengo, or Mokena, IL office. You will perform restoration tasks and work closely with senior ecologists on diverse projects within an hour of our offices.

The role requires an Associates or Bachelor's in Natural Resources and a willingness to obtain a herbicide license within 30 days. Physical work outdoors and a team-first culture are emphasized.

Qualifications

• Associates or Bachelor’s Degree in Natural Resources or related field.
• Must be able to acquire herbicide license within 30 days of start date.
• Applicants must be at least 18 years old with a valid driver’s license.
• Ability to move and carry 35-50 lbs. on a regular basis.
• Must be willing to work outside.

Responsibilities

• Complete all aspects of restoration work including planting, seeding, erosion control, brush cutting, and herbicide application within stream, prairie, woodland restoration areas.
• Assist with construction projects like stream restoration and detention basin retrofits.
• Complete work for municipalities, subdivisions, and private clients.
