Job summary

Baxter and Woodman Inc is seeking a Seasonal Restoration Ecologist to join our Stewardship Crew in Illinois. The role involves hands-on restoration work across Naperville, Marengo, or Mokena, with collaboration from senior ecologists.

Responsibilities include planting, seeding, erosion control, and stream or prairie restoration, with potential project work for municipalities and private clients. Candidates should have related education and be able to obtain a herbicide license within 30 days.

Qualifications

• Associates or Bachelor’s Degree in Natural Resources or related field.
• Must be able to acquire herbicide license within 30 days of start date.
• Ability to move and carry 35-50 lbs. on a regular basis.
• Must be willing to work outside.

Responsibilities

• Complete all aspects of restoration work including planting, seeding, erosion control methods, brush cutting, and herbicide application.
• Assist with construction projects like stream restoration and detention basin retrofits.
• Complete work for municipalities, subdivisions, and private clients.
