Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Manage restoration and reconstruction projects from initial inspection and scope development through estimating, procurement, construction, quality control, and closeout.
• Coordinate and supervise subcontractors, trade partners, and field crews across active job sites.
• Develop detailed repair estimates and negotiate scope approvals with insurance carriers and adjusters.
• Serve as primary point of contact for clients, insurance adjusters, and property managers throughout the project lifecycle.
• Manage project budgets, schedules, and change orders to keep projects profitable and on track.
• Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress, safety compliance, and quality control.
• Review and interpret construction documents, drawings, and specifications.
• Respond to emergency/storm-related project needs as they arise, including some after-hours coordination.
• Maintain clear, consistent communication with internal teams, clients, and insurance partners.

About the Opportunity

Our client, a family-owned restoration and reconstruction company serving the Kansas City metro, is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead residential and commercial restoration projects from initial scope through final completion. This company provides 24/7 emergency restoration services — including water, fire, mold, storm, and biohazard mitigation — along with reconstruction, remodeling, and roofing repair. What You'll Do

• Manage restoration and reconstruction projects from initial inspection and scope development through estimating, procurement, construction, quality control, and closeout

What We're Looking For

• Minimum 5 years of field-based construction experience as a Project Manager or Superintendent
• Experience in the restoration or insurance reconstruction industry strongly preferred, including familiarity with Xactimate or similar estimating software
• Experience with commercial (office, retail) construction or buildout projects is a plus
• Single-family residential construction or remodeling experience is a plus
• Strong working knowledge of construction means, methods, and sequencing
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and project documents
• Comfortable working with insurance carriers, adjusters, and TPAs (third-party administrators)
• Excellent organizational and communication skills; able to manage multiple projects and trades simultaneously
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for site visits
