Job summary

Rivers Casino Des Plaines is seeking an experienced Food & Beverage Supervisor to oversee shift operations, ensuring guests receive prompt, professional service. You will manage staffing, enforce policies, and coordinate with leadership to maintain high sanitation standards.

The role requires 3–5 years in hospitality with supervisory experience, Serv-Safe and Responsible Alcohol training, and solid computer skills. This is a full-time on-site position with benefits and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years in hospitality, preferably beverage operations or gaming, with supervisory experience
• Must complete Serv-Safe and Responsible Alcohol Training within 120 days of employment
• Proficient computer skills, including MS Office
• Knowledge of beer, wine and spirits trends and offerings
• Able to lift at least 20 pounds and stand/walk for long periods

Responsibilities

• Supervise the activities of F&B team members during shifts per policies
• Ensure guests are served promptly, professionally, and courteously
• Plan staffing to meet forecasted volume within budget
• Enforce policies, train team members on changes, and maintain shift communication
• Collaborate with other departments and leadership to ensure smooth operations
• Maintain sanitation standards and adherence to Health regulations
• Perform administrative duties and monitor staffing levels across beverage outlets
• Support trainers and assist team members as needed

Job Functions:

• Responsible for supervising the activities of all F&B Team Members during a shift, ensuring all functional job duties are performed according to established company policies.
• Ensures all guests are served in a prompt, professional, and courteous manner. Builds relationships with guests and leads his/her team members to deliver superior service to our guests.
• Ensures proper staffing for forecasted volume and budgetary guidelines.
• Possesses excellent conflict resolution skills. Communicates any problems or concerns to Manager or other departments as needed.
• Cultivates and enforces company and department policies and procedures. Notifies and trains team members on any changes in policy and procedure.
• Maintains thorough communication between shifts.
• Works well as a team with leaders within Food & Beverage and throughout the property to ensure proper communication.
• Properly and thoroughly completes all administrative responsibilities required in his/her role.
• Monitors business levels and adjusts staffing levels as necessary to ensure all beverage outlets are staffed appropriately.
• Assists trainers in properly training new team members.
• Assists team members in their duties as needed.
• Maintains a constant awareness of services, promotions, and events offered at Rivers and communicates this information to all team members.
• Maintain high sanitation standards and ensures all Board of Health regulations are adhered to.
• Maintains sufficient materials and products in the work location.
• Understands that this is a 24-hour responsibility and is accessible at all times.
• Sets high standards by complying with all departmental rules, policies, and procedures.
• Ensures that all Team Members are treated in a fair and consistent manner.
• Maintains professional grooming and appearance and acts as a role model according to established grooming and appearance policy.
• Attends all Management training sessions and seminars as prescribed.
• Performs any other duties as specified or assigned by the Director or any member of the Executive Management.

Job Requirements:

• Possesses complete knowledge of all procedures related to the job.
• Must possess outstanding interpersonal communications skills to effectively interface with guests, supervisors, and team members.
• Three to five years' experience in the hospitality field, preferably in beverage operations and/or gaming, with at least 1 year supervisory experience or equivalent training.
• Must have successfully completed and maintain certification in "Serv-Safe"(Food Sanitation Management) and Responsible Alcohol Training within 120 days of employment.
• Adequate knowledge of beer, wine, and spirit offerings and industry trends is required.
• Must be able to use a computer and fluent in Microsoft Office applications.
• Must be able to understand and communicate Material Safety Data Sheets to all team members.
• Must be able to lift at least twenty pounds at one time.
• Must be able to stand and walk for long periods of time, as well as bend, stoop, and twist.
• Must possess a cooperative, helpful, and friendly nature.
• Ability to successfully fulfill the pre-employment process and maintain all licensing requirements.
• Ability to work flexible shifts, hours, and days of the week, including holidays and weekends.
