Job summary

Rivers Casino Des Plaines is hiring for a part-time, on-site position in Des Plaines, IL. The role involves seating guests, managing seating charts, and assisting with guest inquiries, reservations, and restaurant operations.

Interview walk-ins occur Wednesdays 12pm–2pm; free parking and shuttle are available. Responsibilities include taking orders, using the Micros POS system, assisting with sidework, and maintaining guest satisfaction while upholding standards and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Understand and comply with all company and departmental rules, policies and procedures.
• Ability to read, write and communicate verbally in English.
• Ability to read, write and communicate verbally in English.
• Ability to work flexible shifts and days of the week including holidays.
• Frequent walking, standing, kneeling, sitting, twisting, bending, & lifting.
• Ability to perform basic math.
• Ability to understand cash handling, making change and counting it back to customers.

Responsibilities

• Seats guests and manages the seating chart.
• Responds to guest inquiries and requests in a timely, friendly, and efficient manner.
• Assists with sidework including cleaning, stocking, folding silverware, etc.
• Helps fellow team members and other departments to maintain positive working relationships.
• Help guests with reservations and guide them to their table or the betting window.
• Giving guests accurate wait time estimates and adding guest names to the waitlist.
• Providing guests with menus and answering initial questions they may have.
• Uses the POS system and handheld device effectively and accurately.
• Explain menu items and offer appropriate suggestions to guests.
• Take accurate Take Out orders, using a Micros POS system.
• Participates in departmental meetings as required.
• Keeps rotations sheets filled out.
• Upholds standards by setting examples with appearance and work ethic.
• Handles any guest's complaints or problems in a prompt and courteous manner.
• Complies with all departmental rules, sidework assignments, and departmental procedures.
• Performs other duties specified or assigned.
