Job summary

SSP America is hiring a Shift Supervisor to join our restaurant portfolio at the Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport area. You will work on shift with the team to create a positive, engaging atmosphere while upholding brand standards and safety for guests and staff.

You will coach team members through onboarding, communicate priorities clearly, and support management in delivering exceptional service and quality. This role requires 18+ with prior QSR/Fast-Food leadership experience.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of experience in the food & beverage industry.
• Previous experience leading a team in a Quick Service Restaurant or Fast-Food environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• At least 18 years old.

Responsibilities

• Support the Management Team in ensuring service standards are met by the team.
• Maintain brand operational standards and ensure cleaning schedules are followed daily.
• Coach team members through onboarding to ensure proper orientation and brand consistency.
• Communicate duties, priorities and expectations clearly to the team.
• Provide guidance to help the team achieve business goals.
• Monitor performance and document both good and unacceptable behavior.
• Assist team members in developing skills for better performance.
• Ensure products meet quality standards.
• Oversee cash duties.

Our restaurant portfolio in the Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport includes Buddy's Pizza, Chili's, Max & Erma's, Sora Japanese Cuisine, Coffey Beanery, & more!

Our Shift Supervisors play an important role in the day to day running of the business. You'll work on shift with the team to cultivate a positive and engaging atmosphere, ensure that best practices are being followed, and hold the team accountable for providing a safe and clean environment for our employees and our guests!

Responsibilities as a Restaurant Shift Supervisor includes:

• Supporting the Management Team in ensuring that standards of service are consistently achieved by the team and team members.
• Understand that our guest is our #1 priority.
• Maintain brand operational standards and ensure that restaurant checklists and cleaning schedules are completed on a daily basis.
• Coach team members through the induction process by acting as training buddy to ensure a comprehensive orientation and maintenance of brand standards.
• Communicate and clarify major job duties, priorities, and expectations to team members
• Provide support, direction, and encouragement in helping the team succeed in delivering business goals.
• observations, discussions, etc., and document both good and unacceptable performance accordingly.
• Assist team members in developing the skills and abilities necessary for improved performance.
• Ensure that products are of the highest quality.
• Responsibility for overseeing cash duties.

Qualifications and Experience

• At least 18 years old
• Previous experience leading a team in a Quick Service Restaurant or Fast-Food environment
• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in the food & beverage industry
• Full Service restaurant experience, preferred
• FOH and BOH experience is an asset
• Proven track record of resolving uncomfortable situations with clients, customers, peers and direct reports.
• Excellent written and verbal communication
