Job summary

Whataburger Restaurants is seeking a Shift Leader to drive operation excellence in a home restaurant setting. You will lead daily shift operations, coach team members, and ensure food quality, customer service, and safety standards are consistently met.

Responsibilities include managing shifts, coaching new hires, monitoring costs, and maintaining a positive work culture. The role offers flexible scheduling and opportunities for advancement within the Whataburger system.

Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years of age.
• Possess a high school diploma/GED preferred or equivalent experience.
• Open availability including overnights, weekends, holidays, variable hours, and dependable attendance.
• Stand up to 10 hours, lift up to 55 lbs., and meet physical demands.
• Experience coaching or leading teams; strong customer service, communication, and multitasking skills.
• ServSafe Food Certification (or ability to obtain before/ during training).

Responsibilities

• Lead shift management to maintain quality, service, and cleanliness standards.
• Coach, train, and motivate team members to perform at a high level.
• Support goals related to food cost, labor cost, sales performance, and inventory basics.
• Uphold food safety, workplace safety, sanitation, and compliance requirements.
• Foster teamwork, communication, accountability, and a positive work culture.
• Prepare, lead, and transition shift operations to keep the restaurant running smoothly.
