Job summary

Denny's #7743 is seeking a reliable Person in Charge (PIC) to run the restaurant in the absence of exempt management. You will supervise 5–20 crew members per shift, ensuring guests receive great dining experiences and that brand standards of service and quality are met.

Responsibilities include leading hourly staff, monitoring staffing, coaching for guest service, handling issues, and maintaining safety and cleanliness. A path for advancement and training is provided.

Qualifications

• Requires a high school diploma or GED.
• At least 1+ year of experience as hourly restaurant employee with Denny’s.
• Completion of the PIC Development Program.
• Management Food Safety Certification preferred.
• Ability to read and follow instructions and perform basic math.

Responsibilities

• Oversee a shift by leading hourly employees to meet brand standards.
• Direct restaurant activities during the shift based on guest traffic flow and staffing needs.
• Coach staff on guest service skills and the service cycle.
• Monitor cash handling procedures and shift logs for accuracy and compliance.
• Ensure cleanliness, safety, and appeal of interior and exterior areas during the shift.
• Communicate with exempt management on issues and guest feedback.
• Assist with hourly employee training and development.
