Job summary

Café Yumm! Mill Plain Crossing in Vancouver, WA seeks a Restaurant Shift Leader for a part-time, all-shifts role to supervise and guide team members in a fast-paced setting.

Starting wage is $19.99/hour plus $5.85/hour in tips, with healthy shift meals, 20% staff discount, sick leave, EAP, 401k with match, training/certification support, and discretionary bonuses.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Ability to lead and train team across all restaurant stations.
• Proficient in customer service and POS operations.
• Strong leadership and problem-solving skills.
• Able to read and understand English for orders and POS system.

Responsibilities

• Display a high degree of competency and ability to train others on all stations in the restaurant: cashier, deluxe bar, dishwasher, expeditor, food preparation, grill/salads, starts/hot bar.
• Provide service that is remarkable, memorable, fun, and informative.
• Count registers and ensure money is accurate.
• Follow procedures to ensure opening and closing are done properly.
• Direct and motivate Team Members throughout shift to ensure operational excellence.

We have a part-time opening on all shifts for a Restaurant Shift Leader at Café Yumm! Mill Plain Crossing on SE 192nd Ave and Mill Plain Boulevard in Vancouver, WA.

• Starting base wage $19.99/hour plus $5.85/hour in tips (based on a 12-month average of hourly tips from 4/1/2025-3/31/2026).

The Restaurant Lead is a supervisory role that has no hiring, scheduling, or disciplinary responsibilities. While not a management position, advancement opportunities are available.

Job Requirements:

• 18 years of age or older.
• Possess “can do” attitude.
• Arrive on time for each shift.
• Be proficient in customer service.
• Possess leadership and problem-solving skills.
• Sufficient command of the English language to be able to order and receive product, check product against a delivery sheet or an order sheet, communicate orders to others, and read and understand the POS system.

Your Education and Experience:

• Possess or be able to obtain a valid Washington Food Worker’s Permit.
• Possess or be able to obtain a ServSafe Food Manager Certificate.
• Possession of either a High School Diploma or GED Certificate is preferred.
• At least six (6) months’ experience as a server, cook, cashier, host, or equivalent related experience is preferred.
