Job summary

Café Yumm! Mill Plain Crossing in Vancouver, WA is seeking a Restaurant Shift Leader for part-time shifts across all positions. You will supervise front-of-house and kitchen stations, train teammates, and ensure smooth service.

The role offers a starting base wage of $19.99/hour plus $5.85/hour in tips, with full benefits for eligible team members, including health insurance, paid time off, and 401(k) match. Previous ServSafe and food worker permits preferred.

Qualifications

• 18 years of age or older.
• Possess a valid Washington Food Worker’s Permit or ability to obtain one.
• Possess or obtain a ServSafe Food Manager Certificate.

• Ability to arrive on time for each shift.

Responsibilities

The Restaurant Lead is a supervisory role that has no hiring, scheduling, or disciplinary responsibilities. While not a management position, advancement opportunities are available.

Job Responsibilities:

• Display a high degree of competency and ability to train others on all stations in the restaurant: cashier, deluxe bar, dishwasher, expeditor, food preparation, grill/salads, starts/hot bar.
• Provide service that is remarkable, memorable, fun, and informative.
• Count registers and ensure money is accurate.
• Follow procedures to ensure opening and closing are done properly.
• Direct and motivate Team Members throughout shift to ensure operational excellence.

Job Requirements:

• 18 years of age or older.
• Possess “can do” attitude.
• Arrive on time for each shift.
• Be proficient in customer service.
• Possess leadership and problem-solving skills.
• Sufficient command of the English language to be able to order and receive product, check product against a delivery sheet or an order sheet, communicate orders to others, and read and understand the POS system.

Your Education and Experience:

• Possess or be able to obtain a valid Washington Food Worker’s Permit.
• Possess or be able to obtain a ServSafe Food Manager Certificate.
• Possession of either a High School Diploma or GED Certificate is preferred.
• At least six (6) months’ experience as a server, cook, cashier, host, or equivalent related experience is preferred.
